Career

Guillermo Teijeiro is a partner in the Tax area.

He has got a remarkable expertise in the area of local and international Tax Law, both at the academic and professional level, thorough his more than 40 year-long career.

He led and participated in merger and acquisition transactions of important companies belonging to different sectors, including manufacturing and distribution, hotel trade, oil and gas, mining, financial and professional services, agribusinesses, dairy, logistics, water and sewer services, and digital economy.

In addition to advising local and foreign companies and individuals on tax matters, Mr. Teijeiro has participated and participates in a number of landmark tax disputes in Argentina, including cross-border transfer price litigations.

Since 2007 He has acted as Tax  Expert Witness in domestic and international arbitration processes within the scope of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre of Settlement of Investment Disputes-World Bank (ICSID), and the Mediation and Arbitration Business Centre (CEMA).

He was a partner of Negri, Teijeiro & Incera Law Firm and of Teijeiro & Ballone Abogados Law Firm. Previously, He worked as an associate and as a foreign associate at Klein & Mairal Law Firm, in Buenos Aires, and Caplin & Drysdale, in Washington D.C., respectively.

As a tax expert he has been distinguished by international publications such as Chambers & Partners Global, Chambers & Partners Latin America, Best Lawyers, The Legal 500 and ITR.

He is currently teaching of International Taxation in the Master of Tax Law of the Argentine Catholic University. He has taught in different universities and professional organizations in Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Spain, and the United States of America. He has also actively participated in various professional and academic organizations, among which his activity as Member of IFA Permanent Scientific Committee and President of IFA Latin-American between 2018 and 2021 are to be outlined.

Mr. Teijeiro participated in several conferences and seminars in Argentina and abroad organized by IFA, IFA LATAM, IBA, ABA, Harvard Law School, International Union of Lawyer, ABDF, ABRADT, and Argentine Association of Taxation Studies (AAEF), among others, as member of the Scientific Committee, organizer, chair, National Rapporteur, panellist or speaker.

He is the author of books and tax articles published in Spanish, English and Portuguese,  and is a regular contributor to the Tax Management International Forum and VAT Navigator of Bloomberg BNA, and of Kluwer International Tax Blog, Kluwer. Mr. Teijeiro is also the author of the last edition of of Bloomberg BNA’s Business Operations in Argentina (7000. 2nd.)
