Position

Julia Keppe is an experienced Banking & Finance lawyer, specialising in fund finance, leveraged acquisitions, corporate lending, real estate finance, direct lending and restructurings, representing corporations, private equity sponsors and financial institutions.

She has been practising since 2006 in London, New York and offshore, and is recognised by Legal 500.

Julia advises on all aspects of fund financing matters, including subscription line facilities, NAV and asset-backed facilities, margin lending and open-ended fund facilities, and is part of Walkers’ Global Fund Finance team.

She has further experience of advising both borrowers and lenders on complex cross-border lending transactions comprising multiple forms of debt financing, as well as complex international restructurings.

Career

In 2006 Julia trained and qualified with Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, ultimately spending over ten years in their London and New York offices. She advised on a variety of lending transactions, focusing on fund financing matters and leveraged acquisition transactions, before moving to PricewaterhouseCoopers in London in 2017.

Julia moved offshore in 2018 and joined Walkers’ Jersey Banking & Finance team in 2020.

Walkers‘ capital markets team handles a broad spectrum of ECM and DCM transactions, with a particular strength in acting for CLO issuers in addition to overseeing TISE listings. Nigel Weston, who heads the firm’s Jersey banking and finance team, is a debt transaction and CLO specialist, in which Julia Keppe is also a key contact, adding experience of note issuances and warehouse deals. Dilmun Leach is adept at overseeing the listing of Jersey companies on the NYSE and NASDAQ.

Walkers takes instructions from both lenders and borrowers looking to structure financing arrangements for real estate and corporate acquisitions, as well as providing assistance on the refinancing of existing loan facilities. Practice head Nigel Weston acts for both banks and investment managers, advising on a range of loan facilities. Jon Le Rossignol specialises in the financing of real estate and private equity holding vehicles, while Julia Keppe is noted for her expertise on debt facilities. Elaine Kelly is also well versed in structuring real estate financing, with additional experience in mezzanine facilities. Christine Fox‘s broad practice covers issues ranging from Islamic finance to development financing and security enforcement procedures, with Melissa Hellio focusing on fund and real estate finance.
