Career

Tally Smitas advises local and international clients from a wide array of industries, both in the litigation and advisory spheres. She concentrates her practice on intellectual property, digital law, entertainment law, data protection and complex commercial litigation, and has expertise in highly complex civil actions, involving intellectual property and digital law. In addition, Tally conducts lawsuits related to technology companies, prepares legal opinions and advises on matters involving intellectual property, data protection and new technologies, drafts contracts and structures agreements related to license and transfer of intellectual property assets, data protection and new technologies, structures and coordinates Brazilian General Data Protection Act (LGPD) compliance projects, and handles administrative proceedings initiated by consumer protection bodies and by the Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding providers’ liability and failure to comply with data protection obligations, and by the National Self-Regulating Advertising Council (CONAR) regarding discussions over advertising.
