Mr. Pérez heads the Restructuring Department’s practice in the Houston office and is also the managing partner of that office at Weil, concentrating his practice in representation of companies in distress in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings and other diverse claimants in all aspects of corporate restructurings. He has represented acquirers of assets from bankruptcy estates and companies in financial distress. He has played a significant role in many major bankruptcies including Core Scientific, Fieldwood Energy, CBL & Associates, CEC Entertainment (“Chuck E. Cheese”), Speedcast International, EP Energy, M&G, Tidewater, City of Detroit, American Airlines, Lehman, and WorldCom. He is a native Spanish speaker with extensive experience in cross-border and transnational insolvency matters.
