Lawyer Rankings

United States > Dispute resolution > Securities litigation: defense

Led on the enforcement front by ‘outstanding’ New York-based partner Joshua Newville and for private litigation by Timothy Mungovan in Boston, Proskauer Rose LLP is well-equipped to represent clients across a myriad securities fraud cases, including class actions and civil and criminal governmental probes. Newville, who is particularly skilled at representing private fund clients in SEC enforcement investigations and other regulatory matters, is one of several ex-regulatory officials within the team, another being Washington DC-based Robert Pommer, who is noted for his ‘thorough yet practical advice’. In Los Angeles, Stephen Hibbard has ‘excellent judgment and deep substantive legal knowledge’, which he deploys to good effect for companies, financial institutions and individuals in the defense of securities class actions and derivative shareholder litigation. Kevin Abikoff, who joined the Washington DC office from Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP in June 2024, strengthens the team’s offering in light of his wide-ranging securities, white-collar criminal litigation and enforcement skills.
