José Caicedo regularly represents states, state entities, international organizations, foreign investors and companies in international arbitrations (ICC, ICSID, LMAA, UNCITRAL).

He counsels clients on public international law and provides guidance on a vast range of sectors, including oil and gas, mining, press distribution, telecommunication, arms procurements, banking, transportation industries and the food industry.

He has also acted before French courts in international law issues.

Mayer Brown shows strength in commercial and investment arbitration where the Parisian team often joins forces with the firm’s other international offices to handle European, Latin American, Middle Eastern and African related cases. The team manages large disputes spanning various industry areas such as construction, infrastructure, mining and energy, acting mostly for companies but also for a number of state entities (Gambia, India). It has recently been entrusted with a new high-profile mandate that is raising major intra EU arbitration rules issues.
