Position
Stuart is a partner in the London office of Mayer Brown’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. He handles a variety of contractual and other commercial disputes in the High Court and in appellate courts.
Stuart’s main focus is on litigation concerning commercial trusts. He is head of the firm’s Pensions Litigation practice in London and advises on a range of contentious pension matters including some of the most significant cases of recent years.
Stuart represents clients in a range of sectors, including the telecoms, energy, utilities, logistics and construction industries, as well as advising on matters involving investment funds, private trusts and sovereign wealth funds.

Mayer Brown International LLP‘s pensions disputes practice spans member complaints, matters before the pensions ombudsman, High Court litigation and regulatory investigations, and it also handles rectifications and overpayment cases. Another core area for the group is professional negligence claims against pensions professionals, frequently defending pension scheme advisers. Stuart Pickford predominantly acts for trustee clients, in addition to defending pensions-related professional negligence cases. He co-heads the contentious pensions offering with Tim Shepherd, another professional negligence expert. Senior associate Tom Wild brings with him experience on the pensions advisory side to support Pickford and Shepherd.
