Position
Sukhvir Basran is an ESG partner in the firm’s Finance and Restructuring practice in the London office. Basran combines her substantial experience as a banking and finance lawyer with extensive experience advising corporates, financial institutions, funds, trade associations and standard setters on sustainability matters. She advises clients on a wide range of ESG matters including sustainability-related law and regulation, ESG strategies and policies, disclosure and reporting, industry standards and guidance and sustainable finance and investments.
Ms. Basran is widely recognised as a pioneer of sustainable finance and investment, and plays a leading role working alongside standard setters and industry bodies to develop and scale the market. She was one of the first lawyers to provide ESG advisory services – using her strong relationships with ESG consultants, standard setters, and digital/AI solution providers to provide clients with an end-to-end service. She is appointed sustainability counsel to the Loan Market Association (LMA) and has advised the LMA on the SLL Model Provisions, guidance and supporting documents all of which are widely used in globally.
