Career
Raimundo Ortega has more than 23 years of experience advising on energy and antitrust law, representing foreign and domestic clients. He is a Non-Governmental Advisor to the International Competition Network on behalf of CNMC (Spanish Competition and Regulatory Authority). Regarding energy, Raimundo has experience advising in a variety of matters encompassing regulatory advice, counseling on energy investigations and challenging energy regulations before the CNMC, the Supreme Court, the European Commission and the European Court of Justice. He also has extensive experience counseling clients on antitrust in the energy sector, including cartel investigations, abuse of dominant position, state aids and merger, including phase 2 transactions with remedies, also at a national and EU level. In addition, he has experience dealing with FDI screenings. Raimundo teaches courses on energy and competition law at a variety of academic institutions.
