Iván Martín-Barbón has more than 20 years of experience advising sponsors, financial institutions, asset managers, and investments firms in a wide range of cross-border deals including real estate finance, private credit, energy transition, and structured and asset-backed finance. In addition, Iván has a strong focus on financial regulatory matters, fintech, and digital assets.

Iván Martín-Barbón – Jones Day 

Leveraging its global presence, Jones Day‘s Madrid office frequently advises domestic and international financial institutions, funds, and corporate clients on complex cross-border financing transactions across sectors such as energy, telecoms, food and beverage, healthcare, and hospitality. The team is particularly distinguished for its expertise in energy transition and infrastructure deals and has seen notable activity in real estate finance. Co-head Javier López Antón specialises in leveraged, project, real estate, corporate, and asset-backed financings, acting for both lenders and borrowers. Complementing the team’s transactional capabilities, co-leader Iván Martín-Barbón offers further knowledge of financial services regulations, fintech, and ESG-related issues.
