Position

Mr. Beechey is a corporate partner in Fried Frank’s asset management practice, resident in the London office. He is a regulatory specialist who focuses on alternative investment funds and the EU Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD). Mr. Beechey counsels a range of financial sector clients in connection with issues related to financial promotion, authorization and ongoing compliance, structuring and marketing, regulatory capital, agreements with customers and service providers, anti-money laundering and Financial Conduct Authority regulation generally.

Mr. Beechey joined Fried Frank in 2015, prior to that, he was a partner at an international law firm.

Mr. Beechey is a member of Invest Europe (EVCA) Financial Services and Regulatory Working Group; IMC section of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Society of the UK; Financial Markets Law Committee, Regulatory Equivalence Working Group; Financial Markets Law Committee, Brexit Advisory Group; and is a former member of the Financial Conduct Authority’s Technical Consulting Group on the AIFMD Depositary Provisions.

Education

Mr. Beechey qualified from BPP University Law School in 2000 and received an undergraduate law degree from University College London in 1997.
