Testimonials

‘BSF is a quintessentially global firm and a litigation powerhouse. ’

‘They are commercial, outcomes-driven and have a clear track record of success. The team are pragmatic, have clear knowledge of their field and importantly have very well established networks in all touch points of the business. The depth of experience in the area where they are practicing is second to none and they are very experienced in the international arbitration arena, particularly in resource nationalism and State based legal matters. ’

‘The whole team is extremely knowledgeable. The partners we are dealing with have a lot of experience and depth, our company’s arbitration is in a pretty specialised area and they are very clear on the process and have broken the process down in to a form that is readily processed and communicated. They are very forthright and are pitching the assertiveness at the right level. They have been very supportive through a process that has been opaque and difficult and very clear in our needs and guidance. it is fair to say that this is not their first rodeo and it shows.’

‘The team at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP is exceptionally sharp and well-organized, which ensures a seamless arbitration process from start to finish. Their ability to synthesize complex legal arguments and present them concisely sets them apart from other firms I’ve worked with.’

‘Kristen Young demonstrates a deep understanding of the nuances of international arbitration, coupled with unmatched attention to detail. She consistently displays professionalism, responsiveness, and a genuine commitment to achieving the best possible outcome for clients.’

Boies Schiller Flexner is a firm of internationally recognized trial lawyers, crisis managers, and strategic advisers known for our creative, aggressive, and efficient pursuit of successful outcomes for clients. We have an established track record of taking on and winning complex, ground-breaking, and cross-border matters in diverse circumstances and industries. From the thorniest, most high stakes matters to straightforward business disputes, we have a knack for identifying the strongest arguments, understanding the benefits of each, and determining when and how to deploy them in a case. We build deep relationships with clients, allowing us to advise them in any matter and any forum, and we regularly represent them as both plaintiffs and defendants. Everything we do for our clients is intended to advance their interests while helping them evaluate the costs, benefits, and risks of litigation.

We handle a wide range of commercial disputes for clients, often acting as plaintiffs and defendants on matters relating to contracts, governance, ESG, antitrust, investigations, and numerous other areas within the law. We understand that a high-stakes dispute has both business and legal ramifications, and we build deep relationships with clients, getting to know them well enough to help advance their interests while evaluating the costs, benefits, and risks of litigation. Clients benefit from our deep bench of experienced litigators throughout the U.S., and in London and Italy; we regularly advise clients as global counsel, leading on large, complex multijurisdictional cases. Some of our key areas of focus include:

Antitrust and Competition:
Our attorneys excel in both the defense and prosecution of complex, high-stakes antitrust cases, including multibillion-dollar class actions and opt-outs. The firm has served as lead or co-lead trial counsel in some of the most important antitrust cases in history. Our exceptional track record is based on our ability to make the complicated understandable and win cases at trial. We have experience in industries that span the world economy, including in finance, investment and commercial banking, securities, consumer products, technology and telecommunications, health care, pharmaceuticals, insurance, airlines, oil and gas, food service, chemicals, clothing and apparel.

Class Actions:
Boies Schiller Flexner has defeated some of the most well-known class-action challenges of recent years through a combination of sophisticated risk analysis and strength at trial. The firm’s history of representing plaintiff classes – an area where we have won some of the largest recoveries ever – gives us an advantage that has proven effective in representing defendants, including Fortune 500 companies, in class-action cases involving alleged securities fraud, antitrust, and consumer protection violations.

Global Investigations and White Collar Defense:
When corporations or individuals face sensitive, complex, and often high-profile regulatory or criminal investigations, our lawyers step in quickly to address immediate issues while preserving options for what may lie ahead. We consider how each engagement would play out in a courtroom, an approach that enables us to negotiate favorable outcomes on behalf of our clients, most often without a trial; however, when the government decides to initiate civil or criminal proceedings, we are deeply experienced, highly effective advocates. Additionally, we regularly conduct independent internal investigations and whistleblowing investigations on behalf of corporations and their boards, providing presentations and recommendations that are credible, thorough, and minimally disruptive to their businesses. We also frequently assist clients that have been victims of crimes in seeking justice.

International Arbitration:
The firm has built a global team to represent clients in complex commercial arbitration and investor-state disputes. We combine a business-oriented perspective with deep trial law experience, along with our long-term work in crisis management, economic and damages analysis, and international enforcement proceedings to help our clients pursue successful outcomes. We represent clients before all major arbitral institutions, including the ICC, LCIA, ICSID, AAA, VIAC and NASD, as well as in UNCITRAL and other ad hoc arbitrations. We are well-versed in the nuances of public international law, with exceptional jurisdictional diversity, giving us a broad understanding of the rules and norms governing any potential dispute. Our attorneys also regularly serve as arbitrators.
