Career
Ashley Bateman’s practice covers general and commercial litigation across a variety of industries, with particular experience in the life sciences and technology sectors.
Prior to joining the firm, Ashley attended the University of Oregon where she obtained her doctorate in biology. She studied the human microbiome using next-generation DNA sequencing technology, and was a recipient of the prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship award. She has a decade of hands-on laboratory experience across a wide variety of scientific disciplines that gives her clients a strategic advantage, in and out of the courtroom.
During law school, Ashley was selected for membership in the Order of Barristers for excellence in courtroom advocacy and was a competitor at several national trial practice and moot court competitions, winning two quarterfinalist awards. She was also the organizing chair of the inaugural 2019 Martin Luther King, Jr. Civil Rights Trial Competition hosted by the University of California-Davis. Ashley gained practical courtroom experience through a judicial externship in the chambers of Federal Magistrate Judge Deborah Barnes in the Eastern District of California.
