Career

Robert Brunner is a litigator with extensive experience in state and federal courts across the country.  He focuses his practice on commercial and insurance coverage disputes, as well as financial services litigation. He has handled complex high exposure insurance coverage litigation, including bad faith actions and cases involving a wide variety of claims, including environmental, toxic tort, public entity, directors and officers, and professional liability claims.

Bob has also handled reinsurance disputes, and has worked directly with insurers regarding underwriting and policy drafting.  When representing excess carriers, he has monitored pending litigation where the exposure could reach the excess layers.

His management of appeals is on both the state and federal court levels. Outside of court, he has significant experience handling arbitrations and mediations.

In the financial services space, Bob has vast experience representing financial institutions in a variety of cases, including matters alleging violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), as well as state unfair and deceptive acts or practices statutes. Although a litigator, Bob always has an eye on early case resolution (often pre-litigation) when warranted.
