Career
Tiago Caruso joined the firm in 2019 and is part of the Corporate Criminal Law group, focusing on Economic and Corporate Criminal Law cases. He acts in highly complex cases, representing companies and executives in situations of institutional crisis, involving crimes occurring within the companies and against them. He advises clients drafting legal opinions and in the administrative and judicial phases of litigations. He assists companies in crisis management, with a focus on the criminal impacts to the entity itself and its representatives. He develops legal-criminal strategies in cases involving frauds, tax crimes, crimes against financial system, public administration, environment, health, consumer, intellectual property, economic order, money laundering, among others.

Memberships
He is also a member of the editorial board of the Revista Magister de Direito Penal e Processo Penal and the Revista Magister de Criminologia e Vitimologia. He lectures at courses and events in Brazil on topics related to criminal law.
Education
PhD, Master and Bachelor degrees in Law from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP). Postgraduate in Compliance from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (GVLaw). He has attended to extension courses at the School of Criminal Sciences (CEDPAL) at the University of Göttingen, Germany (GAU) and others in the sub-area of Economic and Corporate Criminal Law. He was awarded visiting researcher status at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, Germany (LMU) during his Master’s degree and at the Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany (HU) and the University of Lisbon, Portugal (FDUL) during his PhD.
