Position
David Palumbo is a partner and Chair of the Corporate Transactions Practice Group in Baker McKenzie’s Toronto office. David is a member of the Firm’s North American Capital Markets Steering Committee and Global Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Committee. He serves as Chair of the Board of the You Can Play Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring the inclusion of all in sports. In 2023, David was named as one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers by Canadian Lawyer Magazine.
Career
David has a corporate and capital markets practice with a focus on public and private companies in sectors including healthcare and life sciences, tech, gaming and natural resources/mining. He has extensive experience in public M&A and public and private capital raising, including IPOs, series rounds of financings, and other structures in debt and equity transactions. He assists foreign companies to establish themselves and do business in Canada. David has extensive experience dealing with Canada’s major stock exchanges as well as the provincial securities regulators and regularly advises investment banks and dealers on securities regulatory compliance matters, including registration matters and the establishment, operation and administration of privately placed funds and the offering of securities in Canada by foreign companies.
