Career
Michael advises UK and international clients on a broad range of tax, succession planning and estate matters.
He provides clear and practical legal advice which takes into account the sensitivities surrounding our clients’ individual and family circumstances.
Michael is particularly interested in working with older and vulnerable clients, their families and representatives. He specialises in advising on the estate planning options available to clients who have been diagnosed with dementia and other cognitive impairments. He frequently works with medical specialists to obtain suitable assessments of clients’ capacity to make gifts, execute wills and put lasting powers of attorney in place.
He also works with the families and representatives of vulnerable clients to ensure that they are supported in taking decisions for themselves so far as is possible, and that decisions are otherwise taken in their best interests at all times.
Michael obtained the STEP Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable Clients in 2021, receiving the STEP Excellence Award for being the top scoring student. He was included in ePrivateClient’s Top 35 Under 35 in 2019.
