Robert is a Partner in the Residential Property team, specialising in the purchase and sale of high-value residential property and mixed-use assets.
With more than thirty years of practice, he has notable experience dealing with freehold and leasehold residential property sales and purchases, both registered and unregistered, for urban and country properties, including contract races and auction transactions.
Robert is also recognised for his expertise when advising clients on the structuring and ownership of mixed-use building and flat blocks.
He advises both domestic and overseas clients, including individuals, trustees, charitable bodies and financial institutions. Working with various lenders, Robert also advises on purchases, sales and security documentation.
Robert is a leading specialist in the law relating to London Garden Squares and is retained by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to advise the committees that run garden squares in the borough.
He maintains an approachable, sensible and proactive worth ethic, with a core focus on ensuring that he preserves the best interest of his clients. Robert is highly regarded by his clients, who describe him as “a pleasure to work with”.
Robert is ranked in the Chambers HNW Guide 2022 and The Legal 500 2023 for his work on high value residential matters. He is described as “exceptionally knowledgeable and personable”. Praised for being efficient at progressing transactions, Robert is noted to be adept at foreseeing potential problems and resolving them before they develop into issues. He is recognised as a ‘Recommended Lawyer’ in the Spear’s 500 2023 directory as well as a ‘Recommended’ Property Lawyer in the Spear’s Property Advisers Index 2022.
Robert qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and spent 30 years at Pemberton Greenish where he fulfilled many roles including Managing Partner and Senior Partner. Following the merger of Pemberton Greenish with Cripps he spent two years with the merged firm before joining Forsters in 2021.
