Position
Alexandra is a Partner in the Healthcare department, advising and representing healthcare bodies and professionals. As a skilled advocate, she has represented a large number of care homes and mental health hospitals at inquests. She has also been involved in a number of inquests relating to prison deaths.
She has considerable experience advising on protocols and policies in the healthcare sector, particularly those raising issues of human rights and medical ethics. She is regularly asked to advise on a range of mental health issues including unlawful detention claims. Alexandra has a particular interest in issues relating to mental capacity and treatment decisions concerning child and adult patients. She has often advised in Court of Protection cases, including defending challenges to DoLS authorisations brought by residents of care homes.
Career
Alexandra has had over 20 years’ experience of working as a Solicitor in the field of Healthcare law. She has also taught undergraduate medical students.
