Damian Carter
Position
Damian is a member of the Owner Managed Business team at Weightmans. His specialism is resolving complex commercial and corporate disputes, and he has over 25 years’ experience. He acts primarily for owner managed businesses, corporates, entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals.
Damian has experience of a wide range of commercial litigation matters with a particular emphasis on high value corporate disputes. Damian’s caseload includes claims for breach of contract, warranty claims, shareholder actions, board disputes, insolvency, fraud claims, partnership disputes, banking litigation, intellectual property disputes, defamation claims, commercial agency disputes, restraint of trade, regulatory matters, contentious probate claims, property disputes and professional negligence actions.
Damian also has considerable experience in working with clients to create innovative and flexible funding arrangements for litigation claims, enabling companies to leverage claims as a potential asset. Damian leads the firm’s third party litigation funding and ATE offering for clients – “Enable”.
Damian has extensive experience in conducting proceedings in the specialist divisions of the High Court including the Business and Property Courts. Damian’s work includes emergency applications for injunctions and expedited trials. Damian is an exponent of alternative dispute resolution and has successfully resolved many claims for his clients at mediation.
Damian is recommended in the Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.
