Career

Steve plays a lead role in the Firm’s Residential Development Team and has over 12 years’ experience acting for housebuilders, landowners and promoters on development sites across England and Wales.  He has extensive experience of all types of development transactions, funded or unfunded and in the drafting and negotiating of conditional contracts, option agreements, planning promotion agreements and collaboration agreements.  Steve regularly acts for a number of national and regional housebuilders and has developed a wide-ranging and thorough understanding of the housebuilding industry and the commercial drivers for both developers and landowners

Steve is often asked to advise on complex, site assembly transactions involving multiple landowners and takes a pragmatic, commercial approach in negotiating transactions.  His clients seek to involve him at an early, heads-of-terms stage, to advise on the principle issues and ensure these are sufficiently discussed and agreed so that the documentation can be prepared and settled quickly and efficiently.
