Professional Background
Mr. Silos is a Senior Partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department. He has successfully litigated cases in the areas of civil, labor, commercial & criminal litigation, bank fraud, debt restructuring, international trade, taxation and alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Silos earned his Juris Doctor degree with honors from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in 1998. He holds a Master of Laws degree from the Georgetown University Law Center where he was a fellow in the Institute of International Economic Law. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management at the Ateneo de Manila University where he was a merit scholar.
Mr. Silos has been named to the Asia Super 50 Disputes Lawyers by Asian Legal Business and has been awarded multiple times as a Leading Individual for Dispute Resolution in the Asia Pacific Legal 500, a Dispute Resolution Star by Benchmark Litigation and a Global Law Expert for Litigation.
While still a law student, Mr. Silos wrote a thesis which later became a journal publication against the political law doctrine that allowed the condonation of erring public officers. This work was cited as part of legal history as it served as an authority by the Supreme Court to overturn the 56 year old condonation doctrine in the precedent-setting case of Caprio-Morales vs. Court of Appeals, G.R. No. 217126 (10 November 2015).
