Career

Katie has over 30 years’ experience helping people to claim compensation after serious and catastrophic injuries. She joined CFG in 2021 as a partner and specialises in cases involving brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, complex orthopaedic claims and amputations.

Katie has supported many people and their families after severe traumatic brain injury, including those who have lost the ability to make decision on their own because of their injuries. Katie also has vast experience helping both adults and children to claim compensation.

Having worked supporting people after life-changing injuries for her whole career, Katie always starts working with the defendant insurers straight away to try and get early interim payments (payments made throughout a case before it’s settled). These payments are often used to help with any financial concerns people may have as a result of not being able to work because of their injuries, as well as to pay for specialist care and rehabilitation to help someone’s recovery.

Vicky Whitney leads the ‘outstanding’ Cheadle-based practice at CFG Law alongside Emily Kalwak, which is known for its distinctive focus on catastrophic injuries sustained due to road traffic incidents. Whitney is known for her vast knowledge of traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury cases, routinely securing interim payments for clients. Kalwak routinely assists clients who have sustained life changing injuries, often obtaining early payments from defendant insurers. Promoted to partner in April 2023, Emma Jones stands out due to her expansive expertise in cases involving traumatic brain injuries caused by road traffic accidents, with her main focus being rehabilitation for claimants, while Katie Pendower regularly acts for both adults and children in severe orthopaedic injuries in the course of employment.
