Career

Tushar is a part of the Corporate and M&A, Private Equity & Venture Capital practice in Bengaluru.

He has close to a decade of experience advising a host of domestic and foreign venture capital funds, private equity funds, multinational corporations and founders on their fundraises, investments, exits, joint ventures and corporate structuring/restructuring. Tushar focuses particularly on investments and advisory in the technology space and has extensive experience, advising clients across a wide range of businesses including fintech, SAAS, edtech, gaming, insurance, financial services, neo-banking and drone based solutions.

He has also advised some of the biggest domestic and international names in the D2C investment space on their acquisitions of or investments into numerous portfolio companies.

Tushar holds an LL.M from University of California, Berkeley School of Law and a B.A.LL.B (Hons) degree from Amity Law School.

  • Advised electric vehicle charging infrastructure startup, Exponent Energy on raising $26.4 million in a Series B round led by Eight Roads Ventures.
  • Advised SolarSquare Energy Private Limited on its INR 100 Crore Series A funding round led by Elevation capital and Lowercarbon.
  • Advised Sequoia Capital on multiple deals, including investments in Bijak (an agritech company with a B2B marketplace for agricultural commodities), Plum (an employee health insurance and wellness startup), Klub (fintech that focuses on providing growth capital) and CoLearn (an EdTech focused on math, physics, and chemistry classes).
  • Advised Mass Mutual Ventures on its investments in Clinikk (a subscription-based health insurance company) and Zluri (a SAAS operations management platform for IT teams).
  • Advised BrightCHAMPS, a global EdTech venture focusing on life skills training for children, on its acquisition of Education10x (a financial literacy education platform for children).
  • Advised SolarSquare Energy Private Limited on its acquisition of PV Diagnostics (a utility-scale solar power company).
  • Advised Negen Capital on its investments into numerous portfolio companies.
  • Advised Tan 90 solutions (a cold chain solutions provider) on all fundraises.
  • Advised Goat Brand Labs on its various D2C acquisitions in India.
  • Advised Skylark Drones (a drone solutions provider) on all fundraises.
  • Advised Brightpoint Studios on its $5 Million fundraise led by Peak XV Partners.
  • Advised DailyNinja Delivery Services Private Limited, a leading online platform in India for delivery of daily need consumer products on its 100 percent acquisition by Supermarket Grocery Supplies Pvt Ltd (BigBasket).
  • Advised Cooper-Standard, one of the world’s leading automotive OEM’s on the transfer of its interest in its anti-vibrations business in India as part of a global restructuring.
  • Advised CLP Indian on its acquisition of a stake in two solar power projects in Maharashtra from Suzlon.
  • Advised Kameda Seika Co. Ltd, a Japanese market leader in manufacturing of rice crackers and listed on the Tokyo stock exchange, on its joint venture agreement with LT Foods (one of India’s leading branded rice makers).
