Career
Richard specialises in energy law and has practised in the sector for over 20 years. He has been based in the UAE since 2005, working on projects and transactions in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia.
Richard has experience advising on project development, joint ventures, M&A, foreign direct investment, oil and gas transportation agreements, oilfield services, feedstock supply and product offtake agreements, and disputes. Richard counsels major international oil companies, national oil companies, independent oil companies, oilfield services companies and project sponsors.
Prior to co-founding the firm, Richard was a partner at Baker Botts, Clyde & Co and Norton Rose Fulbright.
