Career

Maria specialises in the new technology law, with a particular focus on issues related to artificial intelligence (AI).

Since 2014, she has been involved in the application of artificial intelligence in law – as part of her research at the Research Centre for Legal and Economic Problems of Electronic Communication at the University of Wroclaw.

She defended a doctoral thesis on the admissibility of the use of AI in civil proceedings with distinction, thus achieving Ph.D. in law. Maria is an author of numerous scientific and professional publications in the field of LegalTech in Polish and English. She has also participated in national and international research projects (including Conflict Resolution with Equitative Algorithms II, Digital communication and safeguarding the parties‘ rights: challenges for European civil procedure and Small Claims Analysis Net II). 

She is a recognised trainer and speaker at events in the area of IT law. She has extensive experience in team management, legal project coordination and international cooperation. She chairs the New Technologies Committee of the Federation of European Bar Associations. She is also a member of the International Association of Artificial Intelligence and Law.

Maria studied law at the University of Wroclaw and the Jagiellonian University. She completed her doctoral studies in Legal Sciences at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wroclaw.
