Career

Alastair is a Solicitor Advocate with 13 years’ of experience in all forums of the Scottish criminal justice system.

Now Specialising in Business Crime and Regulatory law, he has particular expertise in defence of health & safety fatality prosecutions, Fatal Accident Inquiries, Public Inquiries and Traffic Commissioner Public Inquiries.

He has particular experience in the construction, road transport and care sectors and is lead Counsel for rradar in the Scottish COVID-19 Public Inquiry; rradar is the appointed representative of in which rradar represents a group of independent care home operators.

He is an accredited specialist in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and sits on the Law Society of Scotland’s AML Sub-Committee as well as its Rights of Audience Sub-Committee.

He is also a panel member of Cricket Scotland’s Conduct in Sport Panel. which hears disciplinary referrals.
