Career
Markus Brusch advises banks, financial service providers, industry associations, fin-techs and trading venues on financial transactions and matters of supervisory law. His areas of specialization include the implementation of regulatory changes in the financial services industry at European and national level, such as Brexit, MiFID II/MiFIR and EMIR, and implementation on a national level in Germany and advice for fin-techs. The practice further includes the regulation of the marketing and distribution of financial instruments such as structured products and the impact of governance and capital requirements as well as resolution regimes on internal procedures and process and financial instruments.
In addition, Markus advises syndicate banks and issuers on capital market and derivative transactions, in particular investment grade bonds, bond and structured bond issuance programs as well as over-the-counter derivatives and certificate of indebtedness (Schuldschein) transactions.
Markus is experienced in the procedural representation of credit institutions and financial service providers before German courts and is admitted as a specialist lawyer for banking and capital markets law (Fachanwalt für Bank- und Kapitalmarktrecht). Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Markus worked for other international law firms and investment banks.
