Career
Mary specialises in transactional and advisory work in the ICT sector. Mary has advised a wide range of clients including ICT suppliers, software developers, managed service providers, creative industries, IT consultants and cloud providers. She has also advised a number of business start-ups.

Following a degree in Law with Accounting at Queen’s University, Belfast, Mary trained with international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) and qualified into their ICT department in 2001. During her time at HSF, she was seconded to the DTI for 6 months to assist with the UK implementation of the E-Commerce Directive. On her return to N. Ireland, she became an associate solicitor in the Corporate/Commercial department of a large Belfast law firm and later became in-house counsel for a FTSE 500 IT company specialising in managed services. She also spent several years teaching a wide portfolio of legal professional courses at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies, Queen’s University, Belfast. Mary joined Forde Campbell’s commercial team in September 2018.
