Emad Aboulmaati is a Senior Associate in Sharq Law Firm’s Litigation team. With nearly 20 years of experience, he advises on complex disputes across banking, real estate, shareholder, and regulatory matters. He is known for his work in financial litigation involving overlapping civil and criminal liability, and for guiding clients through high-stakes commercial enforcement actions.

Emad represents both local and international clients before all levels of the Qatari courts, including the Qatar International Court and disputes governed by the QFC regime. His experience includes financial misconduct, cheque fraud, inheritance claims, real estate ownership disputes, and commercial development litigation. He also advises on regulatory compliance, secured finance, and shareholder agreement enforcement. His cross-sector practice spans project finance, Islamic banking structures, and government-facing contractual disputes, with an emphasis on asset recovery and institutional defence.

Selected Matters:

  • Represented a Qatari bank in a QAR 797 million debt recovery and a QAR 539 million inheritance enforcement dispute.
  • Acted in criminal proceedings involving financial misconduct exceeding QAR 120 million, leading to conviction and recovery.
  • Represented a financial institution in a QAR 836 million cheque fraud case and a QAR 414 million criminal enforcement action.
  • Secured a QAR 14 million recovery in a protracted shareholder dispute before the Court of Cassation.
  • Acted for a private sector client in litigation against a government entity concerning contractual enforcement and compensation.
  • Represented a client in inheritance proceedings valued at QAR 1.45 billion, with a favourable judgment at first instance and ongoing appeal.

Emad is admitted before the Egyptian Court of Cassation and licensed to appear before the Court of Appeal in Qatar. He is fluent in Arabic.
