Sameh Basyony is a Senior Associate in Sharq Law Firm’s Litigation team. He advises on complex commercial disputes, real estate litigation, and shareholder conflicts, with a focus on delivering strategic litigation support to regional and local clients.
His practice includes advising on high-value claims involving breach of contract, real estate ownership and development disputes, and contentious shareholder and partnership matters. Sameh has acted for both claimants and defendants in disputes before the Qatari courts, including cases involving project finance arrangements and joint ventures. He regularly supports clients in the enforcement of shareholder agreements and recovery of assets, and is experienced in navigating the litigation aspects of large-scale real estate and infrastructure transactions.
Selected Experience:
- Advised in a high-value dispute concerning a shareholder agreement and the mismanagement of a real estate venture.
- Represented an investment company in litigation relating to the recovery of capital following the collapse of a joint venture.
- Acted in proceedings concerning the enforceability of commercial lease terms in a large property development.
- Provided litigation support in connection with a project finance dispute involving a syndicate of regional lenders.
- Represented a developer in a dispute over title and ownership in a contested land acquisition.
He is a native Arabic speaker and has working proficiency in English. Sameh is authorised to appear before the Court of Appeal in Qatar.
