Dr. Bashir Saad Zaghloul is Senior Counsel at Sharq Law Firm and a leading authority on criminal law in Qatar and the wider MENA region. With over two decades of experience, he is known for his ability to combine academic rigour with practical legal strategy in complex criminal and regulatory matters.
Dr. Zaghloul regularly advises on high-stakes criminal litigation, internal investigations, and public-sector enforcement. He acts for institutions, senior executives, and government-related entities in matters involving financial crime, cybercrime, and procedural irregularities. Prior to joining Sharq, he held senior academic posts including Professor of Criminal Law at Qatar University and Director of the Centre for Combating Crime at Cairo University. He has lectured extensively at the Public Prosecution, Ministry of Justice, and police colleges in Qatar on criminal procedure and investigatory practice.
He has appeared before the Egyptian Court of Cassation and served on disciplinary and oversight bodies in both academic and regulatory settings. In addition to client representation, Dr. Zaghloul is frequently consulted on legislative reform and legal policy. He is a published author on topics including procedural rights, legal profession protections, and criminal justice theory.
