Career

Hugh studied law at Nottingham University – graduating in 1985 – and qualified as a solicitor in 1988. When asked what inspired his career in law, Hugh says he developed an interest in serious injuries while working as a nurse during university holidays at a neurological hospital.

Hugh went on to establish Hugh Potter & Company on 1st May 1998, providing legal services to those who have sustained devastating injuries. As the firm expanded, Hugh Potter & Co became Potter Rees Serious Injury Solicitors in 2004 and finally Potter Rees Dolan in April of 2014.

Having acted as a managing partner of the firm for the last 25 years, Hugh is now Joint Head of the Manchester Office and Head of the Personal lnjury team at Potter Rees Dolan (a Hugh James Business).
