Demetris joined the firm in 2015 and is a Director.
Demetris’ practice focuses largely on Litigation, handling a diverse case load through acting on behalf of semi-public bodies such as Electricity Authority of Cyprus, the Sewerage Board of Paphos and the University of Cyprus.
He is a strong and able Courtroom litigator who has extensive experience in the field of Real Estate and Construction Law, with his clientele including some of the largest contractors and developers in Cyprus, such as Lois Builders Ltd. As such, Demetris has a firm understanding of the legislation pertaining to real estate in Cyprus and regularly advises foreign clients looking to invest or construct in the Cypriot real estate market.
Demetris also undertakes high-value, complex Corporate Law disputes on behalf of foreign private clients and multinational conglomerates. The disputes he handles have a strong multijurisdictional element coupled with a complicated legal and factual matrix and, most of than not, begin with hardly fought interim proceedings.
Demetris appears before international arbitral tribunals such as the ICC and has considerable experience in matters relating to the enforcement of arbitral awards in Cyprus.
Demetris is also an Accredited Insolvency Practitioner.
He appears before both the District and Supreme Courts on an almost daily basis and appears regularly before both domestic and international arbitral tribunals. When not in Court Demetris opines on behalf of his clients and advises them on the daily running of their business.
