Work Department
Competition & Regulatory
Position
As partner and head of the Competition & Regulatory team in Lithuania, I am responsible for ensuring the highest quality of services in diverse fields of competition law. I have extensive experience advising clients on prohibited agreements by competitors and non-competing entities as well as on merger control. Additionally, I assist clients in advertising and state aid matters.
Career
Major projects. During my professional career, I have had the opportunity to participate in landmark competition law cases in Lithuania, such as the Maxima – Mantinga vertical price fixing agreement case, the Forum Cinemas cartel cases, the construction companies PST and IRDAIVA cartel case, the planned network sharing project among the two major telecommunications operators in Lithuania and Latvia. I have also worked on major transaction projects such as the anticipated Palink – Rimi merger, the Bitė and Mezon concentration, as well advised AMC, the world’s largest movie exhibition group, in the sale of Forum Cinemas business in the Baltics.
Sector understanding. With a specialisation in promoting familiarity with diverse industries and business processes, my primary areas of interest are retail as well as the technology, media and telecommunication sectors.
Training businesses. I enjoy training other people, especially since training others means I learn more myself. I regularly organise training for businesses and create compliance programmes to improve understanding of the importance of competition law in everyday business operations and create added value for our clients.
Building a stronger team. I value the opportunity to share professional and organizational know-how, mentor our new colleagues, and lecture at the Sorainen Student Academy. I truly believe that a strong and reliable team is the key to success.
Business orientation. It is vital to understand how certain industries work and businesses operate, plus the specifics of certain markets. Only then can we find a practical way to apply legal acts in specific situations. With that in mind, I graduated ISM University of Management and Economics.
