The firm’s DEI existing strategy aims to create an inclusive environment that fosters equal opportunities across various dimensions.
We’ve taken several proactive steps to achieve gender diversity, equity, and inclusion. The firm has implemented structured mentorship programs to support women in advancing their legal careers and leadership aspirations. We promote flexible working arrangements to create an accommodating environment, particularly for those balancing professional and personal responsibilities. We conduct regular training sessions and discussions on unconscious bias to ensure fair decision-making processes. We regularly analyse our gender pay gap: during the last reporting period, no unadjusted gender pay gap was identified.
Sorainen appointed Eva Berlaus as its first female managing partner in 2024, setting a precedent for fostering diversity and inclusion in the region. The representation of women on a partners level continued to increase: it raised from 34% as of 1 January 2024 to 41% as of 1 January 2025.
The firm has continued its DEI efforts beyond gender equality, hosting discussions on LGBTQ+ inclusion issues with internal and external speakers. Sorainen actively participated in Baltic Pride 2024, reinforcing its support for the LGBTQ+ community.
In May 2024, Sorainen introduced an updated violence and harassment prevention policy, emphasizing a zero-tolerance stance on violence, discrimination, and harassment.
A new DEI strategy is being developed to enhance flexibility, mental health, career growth, equality, inclusive leadership and recruitment.
