Career

Paul is an international disputes and arbitration lawyer, who has focussed on the construction sector for most of his 30 year career since qualifying in the UK. He has lived and worked in the Middle East for 20 years, and before that was based in Hong Kong SAR, and UK originally.

Paul has vast experience in resolving all types of claims and disputes through litigation, arbitration, mediation, disputes boards, adjudication and mediation. His has worked on matters in over 25 countries.

Paul has sat as an arbitrator on several occasions and now heads the Firm’s regional arbitration practice, overseeing a wide range of arbitral disputes, and appearing before Tribunals under all the main arbitral rules including DIAC, ADCCAC, DIFC, ADGM, LCIA, ICC, SIAC, SCCA, QICCA, and UNCITRAL.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi, Paul was Managing Partner of a global firm’s Dubai office and regional head of their arbitration and construction team.
