Jeremy Whiteson

Work Department
Corporate, insolvency and restructuring, finance.
Position
I focus on corporate transactions for successful private companies (start-ups, development finance and sales/acquisitions); and restructuring transactions and advice for distressed businesses.
After qualification I started dealing with insolvency work at a leading London firm. I then chose to broaden this with experience of general corporate, finance and commercial agreements. Throughout, I have taken a hands on approach and enjoyed broadening my knowledge of commercial law and transactions. I have been recognised in legal directories in M&A, insolvency and finance work as well as contributing to text books or publishing articles in a number of these areas.
I can now draw on the breadth of this experience to find the best way to address clients’ needs. Whether the issue starts as a new start up, acquiring or disposing of a business, raising funds, or going through a restructuring process, I enjoy helping businesses come up with creative solutions to their issues. In a fast changing environment this breadth of approach can open new options for clients. I try to find the order in apparent chaos.
I regularly act for UK and overseas operating businesses, property companies, investors, insolvency practitioners and funders.
