Work Department
Corporate. M&A
Position
I specialise in helping clients to structure and execute complex acquisitions, disposals and fundraisings in both the public and private markets. I look after a diverse group of clients, ranging from established multi-nationals and high-growth disruptors, through to alternative asset managers, UHNWIs and their family offices.
While I have developed deep expertise across a range of sectors including, notably, in the Energy & Industrials; Consumer; and Real Estate spaces, a significant part of my practice is focused on the Technology sector and I find that the driving forces of technological change and disruption are common threads which run through the majority of the situations which I advise on.
Although I quickly learnt as a trainee solicitor that the job didn’t involve anything like the level of glamour that I had lead myself to expect, from the moment I helped to close my first corporate transaction (a reverse takeover), I was hooked on the buzz of the deal and the amazing sense of satisfaction that comes from working with a team of like-minded people to achieve a common goal.
While that same buzz and sense of satisfaction has kept me enthused and coming back for more ever since, I am lucky enough to have worked on a broad array of transactions across multiple sectors and jurisdictions over the years and I have found that this variety of experience has been invaluable in developing the balance between due care and a pragmatic and solution oriented approach to getting the job done which my clients value.
I’m a great believer in the importance of education for all, so outside of work, I sit on the board of governors for a federation of four schools in my local area.
