Transactions and financing are at the core of Fieldfisher's practice, which focuses on renewable energies, such as the most recent instructions pertaining to wind, solar and geothermal energy. The team also assists financial institutions, investors and developers with green hydrogen and battery storage matters. Practice head Daniel Marhewka advises on M&A transactions, which regularly feature cross-border aspects, as well as on energy and corporate law issues.

Fieldfisher's team frequently applies its ESG expertise in a real estate context and thus regularly assists clients with compliance of environmental regulations that are linked to real estate investments and project developments. Under the leadership of Philipp Stricharz,the team acts for investors and tenants from the retail, office and hotel sectors; Stricharz is also experienced in post-M&A disputes.

With the addition of trade and distribution lawyer Silke Goschler and Susanne Weckbach (focus on the automotive, chemical and industrial goods sectors) from DLA Piper in late 2023, the team at Fieldfisher strengthened its practice and now also advises on leasing, supply agreements and online distribution in addition to supply chain compliance and distribution systems. Sara Bandehzadeh complements this with expertise in disputes; all three jointly lead the team.

Fieldfisher's mainstays include the support in antitrust proceedings,merger and investment control as well as compliance and digital antitrust law matters at the interface with data protection, IT and IP law. Co-head Christian Bahr complements this with expertise in cooperations with competitors and cartel damages, while co-head Sascha Dethof focuses on digitisation and antitrust investigations.

Fieldfisher assists a client base consisting of German and international companies with the development, management and defense of their intellectual property portfolios, while covering a wide range of trade mark and design matters, such as border seizures and domain disputes. Alexandra von Bismarck and Matthias Berger jointly head the practice and also assist with competition and copyright-related matters: both have in-depth experience in both prosecution and dispute resolution. The team was strengthened with the addition of Sascha Pres, previously at SKW Schwarz, in July 2024.
