Rachel provides technical legal support and lectures (both internally and externally) on charity law issues. She has special expertis in social enterprise and the Charities Act 2006. Rachel is co-author of “The Charities Act 2006: A Practitioner’s Guide” and regularly writes for Farrer-branded and sector publications.
Career
Rachel trained in charity law at Bates Wells & Braithwaite and worked with Anne-Marie Piper as a solicitor in the charity team at Paisner & Co. She joined Farrer & Co in 2001 and transferred to professional support work in 2004.
Memberships
Rachel is a member of the Executive Committee of the Charity Law Association and has both chaired and contributed to a variety of the Association’s working parties. She is a member of the committee that reviews the legal content of the Institute of Fundraising’s codes and also sits on the CIC Regulator’s panel of technical experts. In 2010, she was made a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
