Erik Koster is an attorney-at-law and partner at AKD. He advises and litigates in the field of corporate law and general contract law. He not only has experience with litigation in courts of the first instance and appeal courts, but also with complex arbitration proceedings before various institutes, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) and the Netherlands Arbitration Institute [Nederlands Arbitrage Instituut] (NAI). Often these are arbitration proceedings with an international component.

Clients appreciate the way in which Erik quickly gets to the heart of a matter. He has eye for the various interests that exist in any legal dossier. Frequently it is not just commercial interests that play an important role but also, for example, the reputation of clients, or the interest of the relationship with the counterparty. Erik is pragmatic and realistic. His approach is intended to bring disputes to an end.

Erik is co-author of the Sdu Commentary on the statutory dispute settlement procedure [Sdu Commentaar op de wettelijke geschillenregeling]. He also regularly gives guest lectures.
