Career

Erik specialises in administrative law and, in particular, environmental law (including spatial planning). In this context he frequently advises and litigates on zoning plans and environmental permits for large construction and environmental projects. He is also involved with the enforcement of laws and regulations, chiefly in relation to filing objections and appeals against orders subject to penalties, penalties, and administrative fines. In addition, Erik deals with complex issues such as subsidence due to extraction operations and the law on waste substances. Erik advises both businesses (including property developers) and public authorities.

Erik regularly litigates before various administrative judicial bodies as well as the administrative courts. He has a permanent position as an author for Kennisbank Omgevingsrecht (Environmental Law Knowledge Database) and SDU-commentaar bij de Algemene wet bestuursrecht (a journal on the General Administrative Law Act).

Memberships

Erik is a member of various professional associations such as the Vereniging voor Milieurecht (Environmental Law Association), the Vereniging voor Bestuursrecht (Administrative Law Association) and the Vereniging voor Bouwrecht (Construction Law Association).
