Georgiana Bădescu is a partner at Schoenherr, heading the firm’s competition, EU & foreign trade practice group in Romania, as well as the local data protection team. Her track record covers the full range of competition matters. She has advised in virtually all large-scale sector inquiries and investigations for potential breaches conducted by the Romanian competition authority, on national and EU-level merger control cases, FDI screening, general competition matters, as well as on state aid. She has also assisted on ground-breaking projects, such as the monitoring of commitments undertaken by entities investigated by the national competition regulator, and has conducted a considerable number of compliance audits, mock dawn raids and competition training programmes for clients’ teams. Georgiana is actively involved in advocacy projects and legislation drafting initiatives. She is frequently invited as a speaker in competition events and has authored numerous articles on legal topics related to EU and competition
