Career

Roberto Fornito graduated (lic. iur. HSG) from the University of St. Gallen in 1994. He then worked as a scientific assistant to Prof. Stefan Trechsel at the Chair of Criminal and Criminal Procedural Law for two years. After his internship, he was admitted to the bar in 1997. In 1999 he submitted his dissertation with the title “Beweisverbote im Schweizerischen Strafprozess” (“Dead Man’s Statutes in Swiss Criminal Proceedings”) and earned his doctor of law title in 2000 (Dr. iur. HSG). In 2008 Roberto Fornito completed a vocational course in inheritance law at the University of Zurich, which was honoured with a certificate. The Swiss Bar Association awarded him the title of SAV Inheritance Law Specialist in the same year after successfully completing specialist training. Between 1997 and 2014, Roberto Fornito worked as an attorney-at-law and partner at a medium-sized commercial law firm. He has been a partner at Bratschi Ltd. since 2015.
