Career

Mr. Kanton joined SK&S in 1997 and, since becoming a partner in 2008, has led the firm’s competition law practice. He has represented clients in numerous antitrust proceedings, including high-profile cartel and dominance investigations, before the Polish Competition Authority (“PCA”) and the Competition and Appellate Courts. In the field of competition litigation he represents clients in private enforcement cases before the civil courts. Mr. Kanton secured a number of precedent-setting decisions of the Polish Competition Authority, including a first ever settlement decision in a price fixing case, and a landmark decision declaring rebates applied by a dominant market player as compatible with competition rules. He was involved in a number of complex merger control proceedings before the PCA, including consolidations on the borderline of permissible market dominance. He regularly conducts competition compliance training sessions for the clients of SK&S.
