What is Legal 500’s Client Satisfaction survey and how are accolades awarded?

Each year we survey hundreds of thousands of clients on the legal services they receive, allowing us to recognise the best-performing firms for Client Satisfaction.

We assess Client Satisfaction using four different headline criteria:

  • Lawyer and team quality
  • Billing and efficiency
  • Sector knowledge
  • Net Promoter Score (NPS®)

Net Promoter Score (NPS®) is a client experience metric first devised by Bain & Co, resulting in the only valid globally comprehensive law firm NPS® ratings in the market.

Client Satisfaction accolades for each of these headline criteria are awarded to the top 30% performing firms nationally (subject to data validity/market size).

We assess law firm performance over a four-year period.
