Przemysław Furmaga, partner, Greenberg Traurig

Przemysław Furmaga is an attorney-at-law and a Local Partner at the Greenberg Traurig’s Warsaw office. He focuses his practice on supporting clients in M&A transactions, both on the buy- and sell-side, also including PE/VC. With more than 20 years of experience, gained mainly at one of the largest Polish law firms, he provides advice at all transactional stages and has coordinated various legal streams, often in multi-jurisdictional transactions. He helps clients find targets or investors, match deals, prepare management buyouts (MBO), resolve corporate disputes and ensure a smooth transactional process. He works with international and Polish corporations, PE and VC funds, as well as with HNW private clients. He is a go-to Polish lawyer for advising Polish companies on their expansion abroad via M&A deals (e.g. in Germany, Italy, the UK, France, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Hungary), coordinating all transactional work-streams in complex cross-border transactions. On a regular basis he advises on settling shareholder disputes.


Sebastian Bellitzay, legal director, Apart

Sebastian Bellitzay is a seasoned Polish legal professional with over 20 years of experience in corporate law, M&A, litigation, and intellectual property. He currently serves as Director of the Legal Department at Apart, Poland’s leading jewelry retailer, where he oversees compliance, risk management, and major transactions. Notably, he led Apart’s acquisition of Jubitom—one of the most significant M&A deals in Poland’s jewelry sector – managing due diligence, negotiations, and post-merger integration.

Robert Gago, head of the competition and consumer protection practice, Greenberg Traurig

Robert Gago is an Attorney-at-Law and the Head of the Competition Law Practice at the Greenberg Traurig Warsaw Office. He advises clients on competition and consumer protection law, and economic regulation. His experience includes representation in administrative anti-trust proceedings conducted by competition enforcement agencies. Łukasz Łyczko, director, counsel, PwC Legal

Michał Wodnicki, partner, People & Law

Michał Wodnicki is a Partner at People & Law, specializing in personal taxes and social security. Michał Szumbarski, Counsel, DWF

Michał Szumbarski is an advocate and a member of the Dispute Resolution Practice of DWF Poland. He specialises in commercial litigation with a particular focus on the financial sector and the construction industry.

Michał represents clients before Polish common courts, the Supreme Court and before arbitration tribunals. He has acted for clients in many negotiations and mediations, including those concerning high-value settlement agreements related to disputes involving financial institutions and construction companies. He has extensive experience in a wide range of commercial disputes, including many high-profile cases concerning insurance claims, liability for damages, corporate disputes, public procurement, claims arising out of construction contracts, injunction and enforcement proceedings, insolvency and restructuring proceedings.

Michał regularly advises banks and investment funds with respect to various legal risks connected with their activities, particularly with respect to pending or possible litigations.

He also regularly advises construction companies in relation to FIDIC-based construction contracts. He has wide experience in legal aspects of managing construction projects concerning motorways, railway lines and energy infrastructure, particularly in FIDIC contractual procedures and construction claims management, from the perspective of contractor as well as employer.

Patrycja Treder, counsel, DWF

Patrycja Treder is an experienced Polish-qualified advocate cooperating as a Counsel with the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Department and with the Projects and Infrastructure Team at DWF in Poland. Patrycja is also a member of the DWF international arbitration practice. Patrycja has over 12 years of experience in dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, settlement negotiations and mediation.

She is an expert in international dispute resolution, in particular investor-state arbitration in which she represents both states and foreign investors based on the bilateral and multilateral investment treaties (such as the ECT), as well as in the international commercial arbitration. Patrycja has represented clients in arbitrations across various jurisdictions conducted under the rules of major international arbitration institutions, such as the ICSID and the ICSID(AF), the LCIA, the ICC and the SCC, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations under the UNCITRAL Rules.

Patrycja specialises also in the dispute resolution in Poland, in particular in litigation, arbitration, mediation and negotiations. Patrycja has successfully represented the clients across numerous sectors, such as construction, infrastructure, real estate, energy, oil and gas, mining, aviation and entertainment. On top of that, Patrycja regularly serves as an arbitrator in arbitrations conducted before the Polish arbitration institutions.

Patrycja often participates in the dispute resolution conferences as a speaker and regularly publishes on the subject. For instance, she co-authored and published a chapter on investment arbitration in Poland in the international book publication: “Investment Arbitration in Central and Eastern Europe: Law and Practice”, ed. by Csongor Nagy (2019).

Patrycja has also an extensive experience in providing clients with a comprehensive legal support in the implementation of the infrastructural projects at all stages, including contract negotiations stage, project implementation stage, claim management.
