Event Report

Thursday 16th April saw the celebration of the fourth edition of the Legal 500 Mexico Awards, celebrating the excellence and achievements of the country’s foremost legal firms and practitioners. Held once again at the Hyatt Regency in Polanco (a neighbourhood increasingly emerging as the new hub of Mexico City’s legal market) the event brought together key private practice firms and practitioners from across the country for an evening of celebration, conversation and recognition.

Highlights of the night included:

· Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, S.C. winning Mexico Firm of the Year

· Galicia Abogados’ Manuel Galicia winning Senior Partner of the Year

· Ritch Mueller’s Jean Paul Farah winning Partner of the Year, and

· Millbank securing the award for the International Firm operating into Mexico

Other recognitions included:

· Uhthoff, Gómez Vega & Uhthoff, SC recognised as Boutique Firm of the Year, and

· Tena Abogados walk away with the Award for Up-and-coming Young Firm of the Year.

This year’s ceremony also saw the establishment of two new categories, with

· Ramos Ripoll & Schuster winning ‘Firm of the Year (based outside Mexico City) and

· BLP recognised as the Leading Central American firm (in relation to Mexico)
