Mohit Shukla, managing director, head – India legal and India lead – regulatory and government relations, Barclays

Mohit Shukla is managing director, head – India legal and India lead – regulatory and government relations, Barclays.

Mohit has broad cross-sector experience, having worked across the metals manufacturing, tobacco and hospitality industries before transitioning into financial services. Prior to joining Barclays, he held senior legal roles with ANZ Group in India and served as general counsel for South Asia at Citigroup.

At Barclays, Mohit is responsible for the overall oversight of legal services across all Barclays businesses and entities in India. He is a member of the Asia Pacific regional Legal leadership team and represents the function on the India country management committee, as well as on the executive committees of Barclays Bank PLC, India and Barclays Global Service Centre Private Limited.

Mohit is actively engaged in equity, opportunity and inclusion initiatives across Barclays in India and the Asia-Pacific region. He is also a trustee and board member of the Foundation of Mother and Child Health India, a not-for-profit organisation focused on preventing malnutrition.

Devdas Baliga, general counsel – law, patents & compliance (South Asia), Bayer

Devdas is General Counsel – Law, Patents & Compliance (South Asia) at Bayer, a global company with its mission of Health for All and Hunger for None. He leads an energetic and diverse team that manages diverse legal issues of Bayer’s three fast growing divisions: Crop Science, Pharmaceuticals and Consumer Healthcare across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. He is responsible for legal, compliance and corporate governance for various Bayer entities including the publicly traded Bayer Crop Science, dispute resolution and arbitration, antitrust, intellectual property/patents, M&A, licensing, regulatory, data privacy, cyber security and integrated compliance management.

In his career spanning nearly three decades, Devdas has worked in leadership roles at GSK/Haleon, The Coca-Cola Company, Procter & Gamble, the Times of India group and the National Stock Exchange of India. Devdas earned his degree in law from Delhi University and is a qualified Company Secretary. He also holds a PG Diploma in EU Competition Law from King’s College London.

Vidyut Gulati, general counsel, director legal, Bharti Airtel Group & Member, Airtel Management Board

With professional experience of nearly 22 years, Vidyut Gulati specializes in strategic transactions, policy advocacy, critical litigation, compliance, ESG and corporate & commercial laws. She has extensive experience in leading & structuring marquee transactions including cross-border acquisitions, group reorganizations, joint ventures, project & private equity deals, international disputes and various other commercial transactions. She has led complex regulatory litigations, policy initiatives, BIT arbitrations, multi-party negotiations and transactions involving public and private companies, as well as Government undertakings. She has significant experience in developing legal teams and organizational processes. She has advised Clients across sectors, with businesses ranging from telecom, tech, real estate, energy, oil and gas, ports and e-commerce.

Vidyut joined the Bharti Airtel Group as Director-Legal and General Counsel in July 2017 where she focused on all strategic, group level decisions at the Shareholders/ Chairman’s office, with a specific focus on group wide M&A activities & fund-raising. In her role as the General Counsel for the Bharti Airtel Group (India & SE Asia) and as a member of the Airtel Management Board, she is currently involved in steering the group’s mission critical disputes (regulatory litigations & commercial arbitrations), strategic business initiatives, restructuring & in shaping the Group’s policy endeavors in the telecom & tech space. She also heads Airtel’s Group wide ESG initiatives & overall compliance requirements. She is also currently the Chairperson of the Legal Committee, Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) and plays an active role at industry bodies such as CII & FICCI.

Vidyut moved into an in-house role as the General Counsel at Cairn India. In her role, Vidyut led all legal initiatives, including high stake litigations & international arbitrations. As a member of Cairn’s Executive Committee, she participated in key decision making & in formulating effective business strategies. She closely interacted with the board members and was also the chairperson of Cairn’s Sexual Harassment Committee focused on ensuring a safe working environment.
